How does it work?

The active ingredients in Nexgard Spectra are Afoxolaner and Milbemycin Oxime. As an ectoparasiticide, Afoxolaner kills external parasites, such as fleas, ticks, and mites. Afoxolaner kills fleas before they lay eggs, reducing contamination of the dog's environment. As a tick treatment for dogs (paralysis ticks, bush ticks, and brown dog ticks), Afoxolaner is also highly effective. Milbemycin Oxime, the other ingredient, is an endoparasiticide. In other words, it kills parasites that live inside dogs, such as worms. Roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms can all be controlled with it. Parasites are paralyzed and eliminated as a result of chewable treatment disrupting their nervous system signals.
